Why do you think it’s so important to stay healthy and active?
I think it’s super important to be healthy and stay active just because you feel better. You perform better if you play sports, your body just reacts better. And if you get hurt, you heal faster, you heal stronger. That’s the main reason why I stay healthy and active.
Why does underage drinking not lead to a healthy lifestyle?
Drinking’s kind of unhealthy, you know. You’ve got plenty of time to party when you’re 21, so just wait it out, get your life on track and do it when you’re legal.
What’s your most embarrassing childhood moment?
Well you’ll notice that when I’m snowboarding I never celebrate by throwing my hands up right after a hit. I do that because when I was 13 in Junior Worlds I landed this super-hot trick and pretty much won the contest. But then I threw my hands up after and missed the last hit. Long story short, I ended up 4th place and I never heard the end of it. That was really embarrassing. So now I don’t do that because I should’ve won!
What’s your favorite snowboarding memory?
You get new favorite snowboarding memories every single day, just going out riding around with friends. When you have a good day, and you can say, “that’s probably my best day of the season…” they always just add up. So whenever I’m riding around with friends on a good day, that’ll be one of my favorite memories.
If you weren’t a snowboarder, what would you be?
I’d be going to school right now. I’d be in college, studying hard and trying to get a degree.
