Congrats to the USA Women's Soccer team!

120 minutes into the game, the team was one goal behind and one player short.  The girls did not give up. They weren't going to let their favored opponent, the Samba Queens, celebrate without a battle. At the 122nd minute, our very own Ask Listen Learn Superstar Abby Wambach headed the tying score into Brazil's goal. The game went to penalty kicks. All five US players connected with their shots, while the US goal keeper stopped two of Brazil's attempts. The Americans prevailed.

Happy Independence Day - Let's Eat!

It's no doubt that many of us may tend over-indulge in unhealthy foods at Independence Day cookouts and parties this weekend.  But while some may be eating caramel apple pies and chocolate cookies, you can choose to serve yourself a lighter dessert that's festive and easy to make to share with the party. Why not make something with JELL-O?!

We're bringing Ask Listen Learn to Henrico!

Today, we're helping the public schools of Henrico County, VA to Ask, Listen, Learn. Each class will receive a set of our Ask, Listen, Learn brochures and our Ask, Listen, Learn game.

The brochures help to facilitate the conversation between educators and students regarding the dangers of underage drinking, while the game provides both education and exercise. Studies show that students who are active are less likely to engage in risky behaviors, such as underage drinking, and are able to better learn

We'd like to thank Henrico County for their initiative and ensuring that their students say “Yes” to a healthy lifestyle, and “No” to underage drinking!

Tyson Gay on Active Ways to Spend Father's Day

For Father's Day this year, SuperStar Tyson Gay (who is also a SuperDad!) shares his advice with the Ask, Listen, Learn parents about the fun and active ways you can spend Father's Day with your kids! Happy Father's Day to all of you fathers out there - Tyson included!

From Tyson:

Running track is my day job, but being a father is my 24/7 job (and the most important thing I do!).

As a track athlete, I know the importance of living a healthy lifestyle, which includes being active every day. Some of my favorite activities to do with my daughter include those where we can be active and have fun outdoors. She likes to run just like her dad...

Being active with kids in sports or other outdoor activities are a great chance to get them away from computers, cell phones, and other technology and just enjoy being outdoors. I have to be a little careful about what sports I do because of my day job. But most people don't... So get outside and spent time with your kids. Go hiking, play basketball or football, go swimming, run around the track. All of these are great ways to not only be active, but perfect ways to spend quality time with your kids on this Father's Day.

Happy Father's Day.

We're back from the adidas Grand Prix

We had an Ask, Listen, Learn booth set up on the second level of the stadium with two Xavix games on TVs for kids to play in between the track events. And even though it was a bit rainy for most of the day, we handed out 1,500 AskListenLearn.com sunglasses to kids and parents stopping by.

ALL Superstar Tyson Gay was the star attraction in the men's 100-meter, but one of his training partners, Steve Mullings of Jamaica, sprinted to first place in a photo finish for the event. Gay and Mullings both finished in 10.26 seconds, but a closer look showed Mullings crossed the line just before Gay.

Another runner who impressed the Ask, Listen, Learn team was Illinois high school star Lukas Verzbicas, who became only the fifth high school runner to record a below four minute mile by finishing in 3 minutes 59.71 seconds.

Congrats to all the participants in the adidas Grand Prix, and thanks for having us, New York!

Milton M. Somers Middls School in La Plata, MD was the destination of the day for the Ask, Listen, Learn team. Congressman Steny Hoyer took the time out of his busy schedule to come down and talk to us and play the game. It's clear he's passionate about the issue!

A big thank you to Congressman Hoyer and the kids at Milton M. Somers Middle School in La Plata! We loved their enthusiasm!
